Asian Indoor Games 2009 - Chess Result

The 3rd ASIAN Indoor Games happening in Vietname is including Chess and Xiangqi. Of course what we interested is in chess and here the concluded result, after compiled all the infos to be found in chess-result.com page.

The event is separately into three section. The first to be finished is the team format, which is a mix between two men and two women. A total of 19 GMs and many more IMs and FMs make this event quite serious, but less publication. In semifinal China is KO-ing Iran and Vietname did the same to India. The final won by Vietname.

UPDATED: There is also a team Rapid section which won by China,defeating Vietname in Final. Semifinalist are Uzbekistan and India.

For Individual the time control labelled as rapid. In semifinal Men Wang Hao down Krishan Sasikiran and Bu Xiangzhi stop Murtas Kazhgaleyez (KAZ). In final Bu Xiangzhi get the gold medal.

Hou Yifan is the gold medalist in Women, her final opponent is ex Champ- GM Zhu Chen. Both finished Zhao Xue and Harika Dronavalli in semifinal.

I have no idea why Indonesian as well as Singapore did not participated in this event. I also wonder why no Indonesian delegation to go Turkey for World Youth this month.
