At KL Open final day, Hou Yifan already secured the first place at round eight, but with a last round draw against Indonesia's no.1 Susanto Megaranto, she is the only sole winner of Kuala Lumpur Open 2010. Shared second place are Nguyen Anh Dung and Mikheil Mchedlishvili. GM Susanto Megaranto is placed third among six other players. This is considered a bit 'declined' achievement since Megaranto was 2nd place last year.
The tournament itself gain nice publicity. The local bloggers show some spirit and works out an unofficial blog. Nigel Short was there for some simuls also.
Indonesian second highest achievement scored by IM Irwanto Sadikin with 6 points and defeated GM Rahman Ziaur, a Bangladeshi GM who is now a GM in residence for Kuala Lumpur. Agusta has performance rating of 2460, not sure if he got any norm there. (Update: NM Laksana Agusta confirmed an IM norm)
WGM Irene K. Sukandar herself struggling with 5.5 points but a last round win over IM Alex Wohl (AUS) should be mentioned. Other notable is IM Nathanael Situru win against GM Bui Vinh at round 6.
