Semoga bermanfaat. Magnus Carlsen, Ni Hua and Kadek Dwijaya win Biel
For everybody expected from world chess player no.1, Magnus Carlsen finished the Grand Master section as winner in 2011 Biel Grandmaster. Chess player Magnus Carlsen sole standing above GM Alexander Morozevich, who also run a decent tournament lately, after his back to super 2700 GM form. We'll see how interesting (still) Morozevich, who known as unique in chess attack and chess strategy.
In a less reported, Chinese GM Ni Hua is a too good chess player among many 2600 chess players in Master section. Ni Hua won it with clear point 8.5/11 above GM Tigran Gharamian and GM Alexander Kovchan, each with 8/11.
On this tournament, Indonesians national chess players also trips to Swiss, playing on this section as well. GM Megaranto Susanto, GM Cerdas Barus and IM Dede Lioe finishing above threeshold with 6.5/11. In the half last rounds most of Indonesian players struggling against top GMs and did not stealth much points, but all of them running a good one in first half of tournament. Last round still saw IM Dede Lioe defeated IM Benjamin Bok of Netherland. This should be a good warming up events for Megaranto who will represent Indonesia in a Chess World Cup in August. Also for rest of Indonesian ladies players, WGM Irene K Sukandar finishing high above her colleagues with 6/11, WFM Dewi Citra Lestari (whom also won the last round vs FM Evgeny Zanan), WFM Chelsie Sihite, Aulia Medina and Evi Lindiawati. Hope the tournament give a good chess lesson for all, and also to promote the world with Indonesian players, so they got more chess invitations....that's what this blog also mean to be.
Main Tournament
In a >2000 section, the Main tournament, the only Indonesian Kadek Iin Wijaya elo 1939, take the first place with 7.5 of 9 rounds, undefeated! Good result for her and perhaps her first prestigious International trophy, congratulations!

Armenia Juara Dunia Catur Beregu
Seirawan hingga ronde tertentu mencatat performance 2800+.

Chess World Cup 2011-Megaranto to challenge Le Quang Liem
Round 1 pairing has been released for Chess World Cup 2011. I highlight some interesting pairing base on fame and rating. UPDATED. Megaranto will play Le Quang Liem. Not a very nice pairing for me, because two of my favorite player should eliminated each other in round 1.
GM Judith Polgar will play for first time (?), officially against Woman Champion GM Hou Yifan, who happened also one of the highest elo rating woman on earth. Also in our dream now, the updated pairing listed GM Movsesian as Hou Yifan opponents, and Judith to play Fidel Corales of Cuban.

AAI Chess Final Round
Echoing another worldwide internet report on this excellent tournament, I also expressed big impression on it. Not only the line up consist of interesting player I like (Hou Yifan ...(uh struggling), Wesley!, Caruana etc) vs the host Indian stars , Sasikiran ( veteran now) and Negi. The result reflects the fighting spirit on board, very less percentage of draws result and all interesting fight. More on that, the Indian timezone perfectly fit our South East Asia wake up eye.
Final round playing were :
Negi - Laznicka - 0.5
Caruana - So - 0.5
Hou - Sasikiran - 0.5
Caruana is on best standing so far, playing So that vanished chances to be champion in India, but Sasikiran now playing Hou the less point player from the start of tournament. Will be another fighting final round to come.
