Magnus Carlsen Gagal Skak Mat 3 Langkah - Tata Steel Chess 2017

Melanjutkan perseteruan pecatur di turnamen Tata Steel Chess 2017 di kota Wijk Aan Zee, kita sampai di round 7 yang rada penuh dengan blunders. Tata Steel Chess 2017 dilangsungkan dari tanggal 14 January hingga 29 January 2017 dengan 14 pecatur dan 13 babak round robin. Turnamen ini dibagi dua grup Masters dan Challenger.

Berita hangat yang hadir di round 7 adalah partai Magnus Carlsen vs Anish Giri. Si juara catur dunia memulai partai ini dengan pembukaan Colle System. Walaupun Anish Giri bisa meladeni pembukaan ini tapi lambat laun, seperti style Magnus Carlsen, Anish Giri pun di "Giring " ke posisi lemah dan bangunan kalah. Di langkah 56, Magnus Carlsen yang bermain putih secara mengejutkan gagal melakukan skak mat 3 langkah, yang sebenarnya cukup basic. Ini puzzlenya, jika pemirsa mau mencoba-coba :

Ini terluhat mudah kalau kita merenungkannya sambil ngopi, tapi di posisi sedang bermain, Carlsen memainkan Gajah f7+, nampak bisa skak mat tapi Anish Giri menemukan semua jawaban yang tepat dan lolos dari kombinasi ini. Partai ini pun berlangsung beberapa puluh langkah lagi sebelum akhirnya remis. Selayaknya macan yang gagal menerkam mangsanya, Carlsen bermain terus sampai bangunan berakhir dengan stalemate. Anish Giri yang terkenal sebagai pecatur jagoan remis berkomentar "Ini pasti moment paling memalukan Magnus Carlsen, saya sih tak ada yang peduli, tapi dia kan legend catur.
